Tournament Technology Engineer - United States Bowling Congress (Reno, NV)

The International Bowling Campus ("IBC") is the home to multiple companies that have come together to grow the sport of bowling. Those companies include the United States Bowling Congress, Bowling Proprietors' Association of America, and the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame.

The Tournament Technology Engineer will primarily be responsible for supporting all technology at the one of the largest participatory sporting events on the planet. USBC's Championship Tournaments offers an exciting opportunity to work in a professional team environment atmosphere that utilizes several types of technology including the World's largest Indoor Mobile LED Matrix Video Wall.

This position is 100% Travel during the tournament season (January - July); the Tournament Technology Engineer will live in one of the host cities. For 2012, the tournament is located in Baton Rouge, LA. The tournaments are scheduled for Reno, NV for 2013 & 2014. During the off-season the Engineer will be preparing the Tournaments' Data Center equipment for the upcoming year tournaments, and will be supporting the infrastructure at the International Bowling Campus in Arlington, TX.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, Configure, Implement, Administer and support tournament technology such as network/voice infrastructure, desktop/mobile computing, print/fax/copy solutions, audio/visual media, data server/storage, virtualization, and security cameras.
• Install, administer, and support tournament scoring display system.
• Provide daily operational troubleshooting of implemented tournament technology.
• Provide exceptional customer service support to all assigned tournament venues
• Act as primary point of contact for technology requirement during setup/teardown of tournament venue; coordinate and implement setup/teardown of technology infrastructures at assigned tournament venues.
• Monitoring and maintaining network operating systems, directory structures and user accounts.
• Installs, modifies, maintains and troubleshoots LAN-based applications of Tournament.
• Develops written procedures, policies and standards involved in administration and operation.
• Monitoring, analyzing, adjusting and improving network performance using measurement and tuning tools.
• Propose modifications or features to improve efficiency or reduce costs, maintaining current in technologies.

Qualifications
• Outstanding customer service. Must be able to work as a team member, able to communicate with tournament staff, participants, and spectators in a professional and courteous manner.
• Solid hands-on experience of 6-9 years; and/or an undergraduate degree in CIS with 4 years experience; and/or graduate degree with 2 years experience; and/or Military background with 4 years computer job experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively in writing, over the phone, and in person.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot tiered applications in a heterogeneous environment.
• Solid experience with designing, configuring, implementing, administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting servers/workstation OS’s: Unix/Linux, and Windows.
• Possess a strong Linux and SQL administration skillset
• Experience with designing and implementing a user directory store such as LDAP or Active Directory.
• Leading industry certifications such as SANS GIAC, Red Hat, SAIR, Microsoft, Juniper, VMWare a plus an
understanding of Security and Risk Analysis.
• Ability to travel 100% during tournament season.
• Experience administering Juniper/Cisco networks a plus
• Knowledge of virtualization infrastructures concepts such as server and desktop.
• Knowledge of SANS and NAS.
• Solid knowledge and experience with various server vendor hardware: (IBM, HP, DELL, etc…)

Physical Demands
• Must be capable of moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to squat, crawl, reach and position self to work with computers and their connections for short period of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
