Appointment of independent members of the Audit and Ethics Committee

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (“the Global Fund”) is a unique, public-private partnership and international financing institution dedicated to attracting and disbursing additional resources to prevent and treat HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

The Global Fund is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill four (4) vacancies for independent members on the Global Fund’s Audit and Ethics Committee (“AEC”). The four independent members will join three (3) other members who have been selected from the Global Fund Board’s voting constituencies. One of the four independent members will also be appointed as the Chair of the AEC.

The AEC is responsible for identifying and overseeing key risks facing the Global Fund, assessing and overseeing the work of the Office of the Inspector General, appointing the external auditor and promoting ethical conduct in the Global Fund..

Applicants to the Audit and Ethics Committee must possess expertise and proven experience at a senior level in at least two of the following areas:
• Financial, programmatic and internal audit
• Investigation
• Risk Management
• Legal dispute resolution
• Ethics
• Corporate Governance

Experience serving in a similar capacity in a comparable organization is an advantage. Appointees will be required to sign a declaration of independence certifying that they are and will remain independent, objective and free from undue influence in accordance with the criteria as outlined in the Committee Charter
