CHF International Chief of Party (COP) - Democracy and Governance

CHF International’s mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world helping them improve their social, economic, and environmental conditions.

CHF International is seeking Chief of Party (COP) candidates for anticipated democracy and governance projects globally. The COP is responsible for the overall project management, supervision, administration and implementation; will serve as a representative to liaise with donors and other implementing partners; will manage coordination with CHF/HQ; will be responsible for the program achieving target results; will oversee the preparation and submission of technical and financial reports to clients; oversee monitoring an evaluation of project including reporting lessons learned and best practices related to local governance.

Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field. •10+ years of international development programming and management experience; USAID preferred. •Previous Chief of Party/Deputy Chief of Party experience in democracy and governance, decentralization, democracy building, or local government strengthening programs, preferably USAID •Experience in efforts to improve local government services – including health, education, and economic governance desirable. •Ability to represent CHF to donors, the host government and community stakeholders. •Proven experience managing budgets and achieving work plan deliverables. •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. •Fluency in English required; second language desired.
