DR Congo Eastern Region Operations Manager : North Kivu, Goma

To provide leadership in the Line of Business by implementing all program operations in a timely and pro-active manner according to the agreed wider requirements of the programmes department.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate and supervise closely all sectors and themes for their operational aspects.
    • Review Projects documents and build capacity of staff in ensuring compliance of all Programs and project standards and donor regulations.
    • Provide technical support in the development of concept papers, develop proposals and build capacity to WV DR Congo staff.
    • Ensure pro active recruitment in particular for field staff.
    • Ensure quality management of all sub-offices.
    • Ensure strong linkages with other teams within WV DR Congo Regions, with the NO and other stakeholders within WVI.
    • Promote strong linkages with external agencies; share learning and promote change through the clusters.
    • Contribute to and prepare budgets and develop funding mechanisms for projects.
    • Prepare with the QA unit all reports in a timely manner for the different Stakeholders.
    • Provide support to Eastern Region SMT to bring vision along with concrete solutions.
    • Provide supportive monitoring on integration and implementation of programs and projects activities.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor Degree in Economic Development, Sociology, Agriculture.
    • At least 5 years field experience in management of operations in a humanitarian setting.
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and donors.
    • Proven Good leadership and management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven capacity to achieve results; ready to take decisions after due consultations.
    • Team player with ability to adapt and listen to others.
    • Strong understanding and commitment to WV’s core values, and its mission.
    • Demonstrated ability in supervision.
    • Working knowledge of proposal writing.
    • Good planning and organizational skills.
    • Training and facilitation skills.
    • Strategic and analytical skills.
    • High degree of negotiation and persuasion skills.

    PREFERRED:
    • Masters in Economic Development.
