The temporary purchasing officer shall provide the purchasing unit with temporary support in the procurement for contraceptive, pharmaceutical, and related products. Responsibilities include preparation of RFPs, tenders, purchase orders, and the negotiation of awards for a portfolio of countries or commodities. S/he will work with the Senior Purchasing Manager and will be part of a purchasing team. The assignment shall be based in Washington, D.C and shall be for minimum of 6 (six) months. The assignment requires an individual who significant public procurement purchasing experience and has a broad knowledge of supply chain. This position may turn into permanent position.

QUALIFICATIONS: • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. • At least 5- 7 years progressive experience in procurement, logistics or a related field within international development. • Must be strong and solid in USAID and other Federal Acquisition Rules. • Strong team spirit. • Some experience working with purchasing modules within an ERP system. • Exceptional communication skills. • Able to multi-task and take initiative.
