University of Oxford, South Parks Road, Oxford Grade 4: £19,972 - £23,121 p.a. Applications are invited for a Laboratory Services Technician vacancy in the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory. The post is primarily based in the PTCL but will involve work in other parts of Chemistry. The postholder is required, alone or in conjunction with others, to help provide and maintain the facilities needed to support teaching and research. This includes but is not limited to: building maintenance and repair (both preventative and responsive) of mechanical systems such as air handling, conditioning or extract plant, pipe work (compressed air, gases, cryogens, water and vacuum). Projects include laboratory de-commissioning, clearance, fit out and refurbishment. Successful applicants will have a wide range of technical experience and skills and be able to multi-task to service a variety of customer needs.
