Child Protection Specialist, P-3, Freetown, Sierra Leone

Purpose

Under the guidance of the Chief of Child Protection Section, responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Child Protection programme results related to Justice for Children to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the programme management, delivery and accomplishment of programme. Qualificatons and Competencies

• Advanced university degree in Social Science, preferably in (International) Law, social/child welfare, social work, or related technical field.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience, preferably in the African context, at national and international levels in programme planning, management, monitoring and evaluation, with regard to child protection, with an emphasis on child justice.
• Advanced technical knowledge of theories, principles and methods in the following: child protection systems approach, improving justice for children, and in use of data and indicators in child protection.
• Fluency in English and another UN language.
