Equality and Opportunity Foundation (E+O) is a California-based nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. E+O is an early stage incubator for early stage social ventures in the areas of housing, healthcare and education.

Stromme Foundation Bangladesh (SF) is a Norwegian development organization providing financial and technical support to humanitarian development projects of NGOs in the southern countries. SF is registered with the Bangladesh Government and currently funding 11 development projects in Bangladesh.

About the Job:

E+O and SF are looking for a Program Manager to manage the pilot for an affordable joint venture housing initiative in Bangladesh. The unique housing initiative integrates the customer, supply and financing aspects of affordable housing for the base of the pyramid. The initiative will start with the deployment of 8 prototype houses in Gazipur and Cox Bazar, followed by a 100 to 150 house pilot starting in November 2012 for 18 months. The position will be based in Dhaka with frequent travel in the project location.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing all aspects of the pilot including, but not limited to, stakeholder and partner relations, education and sales, deployment logistics, staff recruitment, government relations, and monitoring and evaluation;
• Serve as the head of operations on the ground;
• Regularly report to SF and E+O;
• Responsible for financial management of the pilot.

Qualifications:

• Master’s in Business Administration/Economics/Finance/Development Studies and or relevant subjects. Candidates having Bsc. Engineering with MBA will get preference;
• At least 15 years experience in microfinance or manufacturing, with demonstrated experience in new product development, business development,sales and of budget responsibility for at least USD 5 million;
• Proven experience in business development, government relations, and public-private partnerships;
• Strong ability to build and manage relationships;
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities;
• Fluent in Bengali and English;
• Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Proven monitoring and evaluation experience in complex, multi-year development initiatives.
