Snr Mngr:Commercial Procurement In Country Bus Dev

A vacancy exists within the Continental Africa Region (CAR) Finance & Commercial Services at the Johannesburg office for Senior Commercial Manager Procurement In Country Development. The incumbent will accountable to undertake the expansion of in country procurement practices to support the company's value of sustainability by way of maximising in country spend.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

The role holder has the following accountabilities and authorities:

  • Assess drivers for local procurement and develop a Continental Africa Regional Office (CARO) wide strategy for local procurement.
  • Assesses drivers for local procurement by country and assists in the development of country specific strategies.
  • Implementation of the CARO strategy and support site implementation of strategies, revising and updating as the environment changes.
  • Continuously analyze spend data and look for opportunities both in CARO and on site.
  • Assist in the development of tenders that promote and support local procurement.
  • Interfaces with sites on the identification and development of local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Monitors and evaluates progress and outcomes of the set objectives.
  • Aggregate and synthesize the outcomes for executive decision-making and internal/external information sharing
  • Market and motivate business unit position and provide technical specialist support to achieve discipline goals and objectives.
  • Train regional and business unit resources in Procurement In Country Development concepts and principles

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A 3-year B-degree or equivalent qualification in mining engineering
  • Additional postgraduate qualifications in a relevant degree would be an advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a management position for the development of Small Business Procurement.
  • Experience in the team achievement of small business identification, development and sustained supply of cost effective and quality products and services.
  • Exposure to business organisations and participation in small business development organisations.
