Stakeholder Relations Officer FTA- Foreign Trade Policy

The BSCI (an initiative of the Foreign Trade Association; FTA) is a leading business-driven initiative for companies committed to improving working conditions in the global supply chain. FTA launched the BSCI in 2003 and currently unites more than 900 companies around a development-oriented system, applicable to all sectors and sourcing countries.
One of the pillars for the implementation of BSCI is the dialogue and engagement with stakeholder organisations such as governments, business associations, trade unions, NGOs, etc.
We are looking for a Stakeholder Relations Officer to support the Stakeholder Relations Manager in further developing BSCI’s engagement and cooperation with a wide range of organisations with an interest in working conditions in global supply chains.
The job:
  • Support Stakeholder Relations Manager in organisation and follow up of meetings of the BSCI Stakeholder Council
  • Support organising stakeholder events, such as the BSCI Annual Stakeholder Conference
  • Support organising Round Table multi-stakeholder meetings in sourcing countries
  • Support coordinating dialogue between member companies and stakeholders
  • Discuss with representatives of government authorities, business associations, trade unions, NGOs, and others at to raise awareness of BSCI’s activities and receive input on various issues as well as to identify and explore opportunities for cooperative projects
  • Monitor stakeholder publications, websites news in order to build and update mapping of key stakeholder organisations and their concerns
  • Develop guidance papers for BSCI Participants on key social compliance challenges found in the supply chain
Job requirements:
Must have:
  • Dynamic and open personality
  • Ability to fit well into a multi-cultural team
  • Fluent in English, German, additional languages are an asset
  • Diplomatic, articulate and assertive
  • Build strong connections with wide range of stakeholders
  • Affinity with the goals of the organisation
  • Willingness to travel (within Europe)
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows, notably Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to multi-task and coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • At least 3 years relevant experience
Desirable:
  • Understanding of challenges related to working conditions in the supply chain
  • Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of event organisation
