RAHCO was established under Section 5 of Railway Act No.4 of 2002. The Company was established following the Concession of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) to a new railway operator.
The main roles and functions of RAHCO are inter alia, to acquire by operations of the Act or otherwise the rail transport functions of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) and such of its property, including choses-in - action, rights and liabilities transferred to, to assume the provision of, or to provide rail infrastructure on behalf of the Government, to develop, promote and to manage the rail infrastructure assets and to enter into agreements with other persons in order to secure the provision of rail transport services, whether by means of concession, joint venture, public-private partnership or other means.
The Managing Director of RAHCO invites suitable applications to fill a vacant post of
PRINCIPAL BUSNESS ANALYST MANAGER Candidates should be Tanzanian, self
motivated, dynamic, result oriented performers and of high ethical standards.
POSITION: PRINCIPAL BUSINESS ANALYST MANAGER
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SERVICES
JOB SUMMARY:
The overall responsibility for overseeing the commercial activities of RAHCO a major aspect of which is monitoring the Concession Agreement on an ongoing basis to ensure that it achieves its objectives, increasing revenue with time .
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
• Monitor the Concession Agreement on an ongoing basis to ensure the Concession
Agreement achieves its objectives, increasing revenue with time
• Develop contingency plan in the event that the Concession Agreement fails
• Identify other commercial opportunities as they arise, assessing their feasibility and
economic viability
• Develop strategic partnerships with other stakeholders to develop the railway sector,
in so doing, promote the Concession Operator's business
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Professional qualifications to Degree level or equivalent in Business, Commerce or Economics
• Master's Degree is an added advantage
• Minimum of ten (10) years experience in planning and operating the commercial aspects of Transport Business especially in Railway Industry
• Ability to successfully negotiate with the Concession Operator to resolve disputes as they arise
• Demonstrated business acumen
• Experience with, or exposure to, the design and management of franchise or concession contracts
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement and best practice within the rail sector
• Experience with, or exposure.to, a broad subset of railway customer base
Age Limit: Below 44 years.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES AND GENERAL NATURE
• Applicants should not have been convicted of any criminal offences in any court of Law in Tanzania or otherwise
