Field Manager Save the Children
Job Purpose
The Field Manager is responsible for the management and administration of the field base, sub field and antennas in North Kivu. This includes the development and management of relevant thematic programmes (Education, Health & Nutrition and Protection), over all responsibility for staff, finance, logistics, administration, security, representation and advocacy. S/he will be reporting to the Director of Operations and working with other senior managers to ensure that the programme evolves in line with Save the Children UK national and global priorities.
Key Accountabilities
Programme management:
•Provide overall management and leadership to the growth and implementation of projects
•Work with the thematic programme managers/programme coordinators, to identify programmatic gaps and oversee and manage the development of new proposals closely aligned with Save the Children’s strategy and objectives
•Ensure that grants are implemented in strict conformity with donor agreements, and meet the highest standards of technical quality
•Produce high quality, analytical programme reports and report programme
Administration and Finance
•Take overall responsibility for managing the Kivus offices, ensuring efficient application of Save the Children’s policies, procedures and administrative systems and the application of the minimum operational standards of the organisation.
• Take overall Budget holder responsibility for the management of all donor grants.
•The Field Manager is accountable for the donor compliance of all grants on the base and to make sure that budgets are not overspent.
Human resource management
•Lead, manage and motivate direct reports, ensure they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance regularly
Security management
•Ensure optimal security management procedures and practices are in place and continually monitor the security situationProduce ad hoc sitreps and analyses of the security and humanitarian situation.
Advocacy
•In coordination with the Country Director represent Save the Children UK to local authorities, donors and members of the humanitarian community.
