Human Resources Manager for Malaria Consortium

Malaria Consortium brings relief from and protection against communicable diseases, especially malaria, to some of the world’s poorest people. We are one of the leading specialist organisations operating in this field.

Malaria Consortium’s work in Sudan has been focused on Southern Sudan where malaria prevalence is highest and where many health indicators are even worse than those in Darfur. A state of almost constant war has left the health infrastructure of Southern Sudan in an extremely poor condition. Since 2005 Southern Sudan’s Ministry of Health has transformed to a formal Ministry whose capacity is rapidly increasing. In light of this period of rapid growth, NGOs have been asked to provide a range of health support. Malaria Consortium has a team of 80 staff based in four offices located in Juba, Aweil, Bentiu, and Malakal, and has had a permanent staff presence based in Southern Sudan since 2006.

We are currently seeking to fill the post of Human Resources Manager, based in Juba, Southern Sudan to provide a full HR service to the management and employees of the South Sudan country offices and enable an employee-oriented, high performance culture.

In addition to at least 5 year’s experience working in a HR section and 2 year’s experience working in an NGO, the successful candidate will have experience in staff training and facilitation and general office administration. Knowledge and experience using MS-Office packages is essential as are good verbal and written skills, including excellent written and spoken English. A post-graduate qualification in Human Resources Management is desirable.
