VACANCY – MANAGER, MARKETING

Position Title:

Manager, Marketing

Duty Station:

Mombasa, Kenya

Main Responsibilities and Duties

Our client is a market leader in the edible oils sector. They wish to recruit a seasoned, results-driven Manager to oversee the Marketing function of the company. Based in Mombasa but with national responsibility, the holder will be expected to:

· Make thorough market and brand reviews at regular times and sales follow up at the national and retailer level.

· Conduct market research to understand market dynamics.

· Review and action market data from external sources.

· Participate in defining the long term strategy of the company in oils, fats and soaps.

· Develop and present a marketing and brand plan for the next year in line with the long term strategic plans.

· Implement marketing plan in terms of budget timing and brand guide lines.

· Recommend corrective measures in the course of the year to achieve the set targets.

· Keep the marketing mix up to date and cost effective in terms of packaging, design point of sale and lead all creative developments, including managing the various creative agencies.

· Lead actively in the NPD development process and ensure a successful launch.

· Give support to the sales team and make sure that account and brand plans are integrated.

· Stimulate sales opportunities.

· Develop a Brand manual for the Company.

· Roll out the Company brand into every internal business location and ensure consistency.

· Develop both an internal and external PR programme.

· Drive packaging innovation and development.

· Play a key role in supplier presentations.

Education, Skills & Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will:

· Have a first degree as a minimum, coupled with relevant professional qualifications.

· Have a minimum of 5 years marketing experience in FMCG branded business.

· Possess proof of international exposure in marketing.

· Possess a demonstrable capacity for managing an NPD process from conception and briefing through to implementation.

· Have good experience in communication, graphic design and creativity.

· Have good experience working with creative agencies and control of creative processes through to implementation.

· Have good understanding of production opportunities and limitations.
