Medical Project Coordinator

The project coordinator will be responsible for implementing the current projects in South Darfur as well as assessing possible new project areas.

Planning and co-ordination of all South Darfur health project activities in co- operation with country director
Supervision of the implementation (monitoring and evaluation) of the project activities (including administration, procurement and management of medical stocks) according to the original objectives
Frequent travels to the project areas in South Darfur
Responsible for meeting project objectives
Ensure that the projects are sustainable
Documentation of medical data, support in regular reporting to country director, headquarter, donors and authorities
Recruit and manage local staff in collaboration with country director and according to Sudanese labour law
Recognise further needs and undertake assessments as necessary, write project proposals for new or follow-on projects and develop local strategies in close co-operation with the country director
Supervision of rehabilitation activities in the supported health facilities
Represent Johanniter International when liasing with local authorities and partners, in meetings with other NGOs, International Organisations, donors etc. in the health sector
Compile regular reports, updates and articles
Support media and press work in conjunction with Johanniter spokesperson
Local procurement and purchasing within set guidelines and in conjunction with country director, finance administrator and logisticians
