Background / General description:


The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, is a global investor and advisor committed to promoting projects in its developing member countries that are economically beneficial, financially and commercially sound, and environmentally and socially sustainable. IFC finances private sector investments, mobilizes capital in the international financial markets, helps clients improve social and environmental sustainability, and provides technical assistance and advice to governments and businesses in the developing world. IFC is seeking to recruit a Program Analyst for its Brussels office. The Brussels office is responsible for maintaining and growing IFC s relations with the EU Institutions and Belgium, including its private sector. The Program Analyst will help support IFC s strategic dialogue with the EU and Belgium; fundraising and business development efforts; as well as engagement with other stakeholders such as civil society and the media. The position will report to the Special Representative, Europe/Representative, Brussels. It will require close cooperation with IFC offices in Europe as well as coordination of work with Washington, especially the Partnerships and Advisory Operations Department, Corporate Relations, and Regional and Investment Departments.

Duties and Accountabilities:


Arranging and coordinating meeting programs; Assisting in the organization of events and conferences; Conducting monitoring and research and preparing presentations; Attend meetings and prepare reports; Making logistical arrangements, as needed; Performing ad hoc assignments.

Selection Criteria:


Master s Degree in International Relations, Politics, Economics/Business, or Law preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience; Minimum of two (2) years experience in donor and/or government relations, EU and/or international affairs, and/or interest representation; Fluent in English and French, other languages are a plus; Interest/previous experience in development and/or the private sector welcome; Good interpersonal and team work skills and ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and in a multi-disciplinary team environment; Good computer skills.
