The Carter Center (TCC) provides technical support to the Ministry of Health - Government of South Sudan. The Carter Center seeks one dynamic, qualified candidate for the following position:
Title: Transport Manager/Lead Mechanic
Duty Station: Juba, South Sudan with frequent field travel
Duration: 2 years (six month contracts)
Closing Date: 31 March 2011
Position Description
The Transport Manager/Lead Mechanic is under the direct supervision of the Senior Operations Manager:
Qualifications:
Minimum –
• Seven (7) years of progressive experience in fleet management, staff supervision, and workshop management
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in the maintenance/repair of Toyota Land Cruisers
• Degree in automotive engineering or related field from an accredited technical university/college
• Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance on motorcycles, diesel and petrol light engines, and heavy trucks
• Demonstrated ability to design/ implement innovative training and capacity-building exercises
• Demonstrated ability to follow safety and traffic regulations
• Demonstrated ability in reading Toyota spare parts catalogue
• Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft Office [MS Excel and MS Word]
• Possesses valid passport
• Excellent written and spoken English
