Duties: The Department of Psychology was only established in 2004 and is, therefore, looking for an innovative psychologist who can assist in developing psychology as an academic and professional discipline in Botswana. The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach psychology courses; (ii) supervise intern students; (iii) supervise research projects; (iv) initiate, promote and participate in research; (v) act as a mentor to junior academic staff; (vi) raise / solicit research funds from funding agencies within and outside the country; (vii) provide academic leadership through programme development and research; (viii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department; (ix) carry out any other responsibilities as and when assigned by the Head of Department. Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Psychology; (ii) at least five (5) years teaching experience at a university level or comparable institution, (iii) an excellent cumulative and sustained record of research and publication, and experience in supervising students’ research projects and internship; (iv) at least 12 publications, 8 of which are peer reviewed journal papers on the discipline; (v) lead and/or single author in at least 6 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (vi) evidence of academic leadership and evidence of service to the university, the profession and the community; (vii) the ability to attract funding from international sources.
