Business Development Manager – Central Region

What will I do as a Business Development Manager?

You will join a high performing new business team and work directly for the Operations & Sales Director. You will work wthin a fast paced industry and be responsible for delivery of S&NPC’s Core Purpose of being the best at creating value in UK leased pubs through operational excellence.

As a Business Development Manager, you will ultimately be accountable for maximising unit contribution across an area of 50 to 60 pubs.

As a Business Development Manager, what skills and qualifications will I need?

  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as excellent negotiating, influencing, planning & organisational skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and profit focus.
  • Ability to understand and assimilate financial and numerical data
  • Tenacity, self-motivation.
  • Experience in retail in FMCG and/or the licensed trade is desirable.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Proven multi-site management and retail development skills, as well as some previous recruitment experience eg. Lessees or franchisees.

As a Business Development Manager, what kind of responsibilities will I have?

You will:

  • Manage an area of between 50 and 60 pubs, working within the SNPC Code of Practice at all times.
  • Develop relationships with colleagues within the wider Heineken UK business, in particular the On-Trade, to deliver shared targets.
  • Have P&L responsibility and be ultimately accountable for the internal relationship management with Credit Control, First Point, KNDL, the Pub Support Centre and all lessee support services to deliver against our business objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver the Area Business Plans.
  • Be responsible for achieving target by maximising the income streams from our pubs.
  • Further drive profitability by working with internal teams to deliver full, timely Rent Reviews, agree rents for new lets and exploit such opportunities as may arise through tactical discounting.
  • Be accountable for identifying investment opportunities for CAPEX spend and work in conjunction with our marketing teams to develop and implement a marketing plan for each pub.
  • Be responsible for protecting the interests of the company and ensure Lessee compliance with the lease and legislative requirements.
