Commercial Planning & Activation Mgr - Field Marketing

The Commercial Planning and Activation team covers a broad range of roles and act as the key interface between sales and marketing to deliver our business plan.
The CP&A Field Marketing team works with the rest of CP&A, Marketing and Procurement to identify opportunities to grow in the GB market, improve processes and activate seamlessly. The team leads the development of Field Marketing business strategy, champions the right activities and agencies by channel/brand and is responsible for a significant amount of the activation processes in GB.
The role is crucial to achieving sustainable and profitable growth in GB and demonstrates to the Western European business that GB delivers value for investment. It has a wide ranging scope enabling the successful candidate license to reach across categories and channels as well as outside the organisation, to bring best practise to all commercial areas of the business.

b) Market Complexity
Diageo continues to face strong competition from many brands in all channels. Without effective execution of plans on a store by store or outlet by outlet basis, our planning and advertising will not deliver the return we need to deliver growth for the business.
Activating at store/outlet level is becoming part of many customer plans and we must flex our resource continually to deliver for customer and consumer. Field Marketing has transformed over the past 2 years to be one of our most powerful growth drivers. The agility of the team and capability of the individuals selling/sampling our brands are critical to Diageo success in every channel and we continue to review our Field Marketing model to ensure we can deliver to our ambition.
The Field Marketing model and ways of working used in GB is one of a kind in Western Europe and spinning the success we have had across the other countries could deliver even more benefit for Diageo far more broadly.
c) Leadership Responsibilities
Complete ownership of the Field Marketing model, agencies and ways of working for GB.
Management of senor supplier contacts to deliver the plan.
Lead the business to invest in the right field marketing activities to drive profitable and sustainable growth.


Qualifications and experience required

Self starter with front line Sales and/or Commercial management.
Clear understanding of internal vs. external commercial motivations and ability to translate into compelling customer or salesforce solutions.
Strong influencing skills – ability to push own agenda successfully across numerous stakeholders.
Good leadership –ability to prioritise and make calls on own and teams team and focus on breakthrough.
Results/action bias and ability to manage numerous workstreams to effective conclusion on time.
Proven analytical ability, and capable of translating market data into plan beating strategies.
Ability to prioritise quickly and effectively across a broad range of projects and demands.
