Founded in 1993, Women for Women International (WfWI) is dedicated to providing women survivors of war with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. WfWI currently works in eight countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sudan. During the last 17 years, WfWI has transformed the lives of more than 299,000 socially-excluded women and distributed over $94 million in direct aid and microcredit loans, benefiting more than 1.6 million family and community members in the process. In 2010, over 61,881 women in all eight countries received program services, with more than 23,000 sponsors from 56 countries across the world. WfWI has over 600 employees worldwide, and each of our country offices are fully staffed by women and men from the local community.
Women for Women International’s Washington office seeks a Corporate Partnership intern for a minimum of 8 weeks.
Project Description:
We’re seeking to expand our corporate partnership program and engage new corporate partners while developing the relationships with our existing corporate partners. Women for Women International is seeking someone to provide support with project management of day-to-day partner activities, as well as assistance in developing new, innovative partnership concepts. Corporate Partnership interns will report to the Corporate Partnership Marketing Manager. We have one, unpaid, full-time internship available during the summer session. Academic credit is available for this internship experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the fulfillment partner social media
- Maintain partner status sheet
- Manage corporate partnership payment schedule
- Ensure website is up-to-date with latest partner information
- Conduct industry research to understand best practices
- Perform periodic background research of potential and existing partners
- Assist with thank you and cultivation of partners
- Assist with materials development and execution inclusive of presentations and overview documents
- Assist in brainstorming and development of new engagement tactics
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working in an office environment
- Experience working for a private sector company – preferably in a marketing capacity
- Interest in women’s and/or international issues
- Demonstrated creativity and flexibility
- Experience Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn new things
- Ability to work well with others
- Sense of humor
Compensation:
Internships available at Women for Women International are currently unpaid positions. Academic credit is available for this internship experience.
