As a Manufacturing Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for studying and implementing advanced initiatives to support upcoming launch efforts for a variety of products and equipment. Individual will provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting to production and engineering teams and use statistical analysis to investigate, gather, and analyze data to quickly assess pre-production capabilities, identify root causes and implement proper corrective actions. Candidate will regularly perform advanced technical analysis of processes, make design decisions, and provide labor and material quotes for systems that integrate with the manufacturing equipment. Continual focus on safety, quality, throughput, and maintainability of manufacturing systems is required.

GM Components Holding LLC is a fast paced, high production unionized facility that operates on multiple shifts. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work any shift assigned. Depending on production requirements candidate may be required to work extended hours and/or addition workdays. This position is not guaranteed to be on any shift.

Key Job Requirements:

- Develop tooling and equipment requirements to grind Stainless Steel components
- Identify process steps required to produce acceptable components
- Develop the type (grade, grit, etc) of grinding wheel material
- Determine required speeds and feeds for each process'
- Determine the wheel 'dress' process and requirements
- Optimize tool design to maximize tool life

Qualifications

Basic Required Skills

- Mechanical or material removal experience
- Geometric Design & Tolerancing print reading capability
- Fluent in Microsoft office applications
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Flexibility to work offshift as required

Basic Preferred Skills

- Min 5 years tooling experience
- Previous grinding process experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform Design of Experiments (DOE's)
- Ability to apply statistical principles and theory to analyze capabilities
- Familiarity with measurement systems and gaging
- Familiarity with automotive industry requirements (ISO, AIAG, etc.)

- BSME or equivalent training
