The Organisation

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is the Capital’s biggest independent business support organisation with c.2,400 members. Its services include the provision of business information, lobbying, networking and a range of business services including international trade promotion and facilitation as well as export documentation.

LCCI is part of the Enterprise Europe Network London (EEN London) for which it delivers the information and matchmaking services. It provides information and advice on EU affairs, trade topics and business co-operation.

The Role

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive and based in the City the post holder will manage the Business Advice Service which provides European, UK and International information to both members and non-members. Managing a team of one permanent Business Information Executive and two interns you will:

Key Tasks

  • deliver the EEN London contract on behalf of LCCI;
  • manage the LCCI business information service;
  • ensure delivery of the monthly eNewsletter as well as other LCCI and EEN publications;
  • write and manage the annual budget in conjunction with the Deputy Chief Executive;
  • report, both verbal and written, to the European Commission, the Enterprise Europe Network London partners and LCCI;
  • responsible for responses to all EU and trade related enquiries from both members and non-members;
  • ensure that all other targets of the EEN contract are met;
  • research information using the internet, databases, documentation collection, contacts in government departments, the European Commission and other sources as appropriate;
  • have and further develop a broad knowledge base on European issues for research enquiries;
  • maintain accurate records of enquiries and assist in the maintenance of the EEN’s information resources;
  • prepare EU related articles for newsletters, bulletins and journals;
  • prepare EU related factsheets and country reports;
  • help market the EEN as a centre of excellence for European business information;
  • represent the EEN and the LCCI at internal and external events and meetings.

Team Leader

  • manage both EEN and LCCI information staff;
  • ensure holiday records, absence forms and all other necessary administrative processes are maintained in accordance with Chamber procedures;
  • recruit, train, develop, appraise, guide and where necessary discipline members of the Team in accordance with the Chamber’s HR policies and procedure;
  • supervise the work and performance of all members of the team.

General

  • play an active part in team briefings including Operations Group, staff meetings and other internal communications;
  • present an efficient professional and positive image of the BCC approved Chamber network in London;
  • actively seeking potential members and helping the Membership Team recruit and retain them.

Additional Duties

  • liaise with other Chamber teams and EEN colleagues, to assist with maximum delivery of services to member.
