Impact Pathway Specialist, Los Baños, Philippines

We are seeking a consultant to provide high-level scientific and coordination capability for the conduction of adoption and impact studies for IRRI’s postharvest initiatives in Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines. The successful candidate will lead the design, coordination and conduction of adoption and impact studies for IRRI’s ADB funded postharvest projects and will collaborate with IRRI partner institutions in the three countries. This position will be crucial for assessing project outcomes and provide input to the development of follow-up projects. The duration of this project will be 12 months.

Major accountabilities/Responsibilities
• In coordination with the impact pathway specialist of the project design methodologies and questionnaires for adoption and impact assessments
• Train enumerators in the three countries and ensure quality and integrity of data gathering
• Lead the data analysis and oversee work packages assigned to other staff
• Develop a methodology to assess project outcomes at different levels
• Write one paper about the findings

Qualification requirements
• MS in anthropology or socio economics
• With demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; understanding of scientific research and development activities and processes; demonstrated experience in design and conduction of impact studies in the agricultural sector, data analysis using appropriate statistical and analytical methods; leading / coordinating of research groups, and have a background in project planning logic, log frames and M&E tools
• Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken English
