Responsibilities:
This position will require close interaction with a team consisting of a variety of diverse backgrounds and skillsets including computational modelers (both stress & thermal analysis), analytical physicist, engineers as well as experienced technicians. Scope of engineering work includes design, manufacturing and testing of high voltage and high temperature heater well components for subsurface applications. Modeling and analytical work is performed in the design of components which are then manufactured and tested. Close working relationships are required in this R&D environment; frequently the group tries to work problems that have no previously known solution; as well as working closely with the Venture Technical teams to ensure asset maturation goals are met. The TRP and LEAN processes will need to be applied in a fit-for-purpose method in this challenging environment.



Requirements:
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study; Graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years hands on experience with mechanical component design and fabrication including specialty welding techniques i.e. thermal and stress analysis
  • Experience in upstream well design and completion technology would be desirable
  • FEA and/or CFD modeling experience with knowledge of commercial software packages COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent and/or Abaqus is a plus
  • Strong communication skills required with demonstrated ability to communicate technical analysis effectively to management, technical professionals and field technicians
  • Ability to build positive effective relationships with a diverse team
  • Demonstrated capability of delivering results through others through development of external partnerships with vendors, academia and government laboratories
