Contractor HSE-SD Specialist - Harper, KS

The Upstream Americas portfolio today generates significant cash flow from core producing areas. We explore for and extract crude oil and natural gas, often in joint ventures with international and national oil companies. We have a robust portfolio of deepwater and onshore acreage across the Americas to ensure sustained production. The Gas Monetization business focuses on ways to leverage Shell’s significant natural gas position in new and existing markets, such as converting natural gas to liquids (GTL) to provide cleaner burning fuels. Responsibilities:

To implement Contractor Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Management for the Onshore Gas business located in Harper, Kansas, in accordance with the Shell's Upstream Americas Contractor HSE Management process. To work together with contractors to continually improve HSE performance by implementing HSE management controls that are appropriate for the level of HSE risk, the organizational relationship with the contractor and the capabilities of the contractor.

• Work with HSE, Contractor HSE Team Lead, Contracts & Procurement and Operations leaders, management, field teams and contractor companies to ensure continuous improvement within contractor HSE programs
• Provide implementation of overall Contractor HSE Management activities
• Lead on-site contractor HSE evaluations
• Develop and improve on Contractor HSE Improvement Plans
• Oversee contractor HSE data-gathering process
• Provide Contractor Safety Management training
• Work closely with the supply chain organization at all levels

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 - 7 years working experience in technical disciplines within the Upstream Petroleum industry with exposure to HSE responsibilities
• Prior construction or production experience strongly preferred
• Upstream Petroleum Operational HSE experience required
• Prior experience working with and auditing of contractors
• Interpretation and application of HSE statutes and regulations and company HSE standards
• Independent use of personal computing applications, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer
• Effective oral and written communicator with all levels in an ogranisation
