Operations and Development Associate

Revenue Watch seeks an Operations and Development Associate to be based in New York City.

Purpose of Position:

Provide Deputies and Director of Operations with general support to operations, fundraising, donor relations, board support, and HR and orientation support. Work carried out under general supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Deputies and Director of Operations on donor reporting, track deadlines and requirements, draft narrative and financial reports, maintain comprehensive donor files and conduct research on donor outreach;
  • Support the Director of Operations on annual budget preparation and liaise with accounting staff on project and donor coding and create new codes as relevant;
  • Provide support to Deputies and Director of Operations on board meeting preparation and draft background materials;
  • Provide general operational support to the Director of Operations, including liaise with administrative staff in regional offices, regularly updating policies and procedures documents and maintain other general staff materials;
  • Oversee orientation of all new staff members based in NY office and abroad, including coordinate staff access to business center, Karl and huddle systems, assist with personnel recruitment in with organizing and short-listing resumes and assist with the seasonal intern program;
  • Manage implementation of RWI’s online project management tool – Huddle, including post institutional documents and keep the RWI Staff and Planning workspace up to date, create profiles for new staff and troubleshoot and liaise with Huddle personnel;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and minimum of two to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in administration, finance and operations departments.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent listening and communication skills with sensitivity to cultural communication differences;
  • Show discretion and ability to handle confidential issues;
  • High level of self-motivation and at ease working independently when necessary;
  • Poised and work well under pressure, attentive to detail and prioritizes work;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects and ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Pleasant, diplomatic manner and disposition in interacting with senior management, co-workers and the general public.


Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Essential functions are typically performed in an office setting with a low level of noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Program Specific Requirements:

  • Interest in and experience with fundraising and donor outreach;
  • Experience with internet research and database management.
