Program Manager, Partners in Learning for Schools

Do you want to help millions of students realize their potential in meaningful, tangible ways? If so, consider taking on the challenge of being our next Partners in Learning Schools Program Manager.

This PIL program works around the world to:
• Identify and promote the best practices in school leadership, including development of a school-wide vision, the use of technology in innovative teaching practice across a school community;
• Develop and scale professional development programs that help school leaders rethink innovative teaching and learning, and the role that technology plays, in their schools;
• Create communities of practice among some of the most innovative school leaders in the world through the Pathfinder and Mentor depth programs;
• Incorporate best of class technology solutions in all appropriate aspects of the learning community including curriculum delivery, community collaboration, back-office support and content creation, dissemination and assessment;
• Create a locally replicable model that improves student achievement through holistic reform of primary and secondary education;
• Apply the findings of the Innovative Teaching and Learning Research to generate tools and professional development programs that help school leaders create an environment that allows everyone in a school community (teachers, parents, community members) to take a passionate, personal responsibility for learning and inspiring a commitment to active citizenship.

The Partners in Learning Schools Program Manager should have the following qualifications:
• At least 5 years of primary or secondary education or education industry experience with demonstrated knowledge and fluency in issues in the following areas: curriculum, pedagogy, ICT skills integration, 1:1 computing, sustainability, leadership, technology, and educational research.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies and relevant application in education settings.
• Ability to identify, scale, and support effective leadership and change management practices.
• Experience in developing and nurturing active online communities.
• Experience in development of professional development resources and relevant content.
• Experience working outside the US and knowledge of international education systems issues.
• 3 years experience managing international virtual teams who do not report to you, but who must be accountable to the program goals and objectives in order to achieve success.
• 3 years experience developing long and short-term program strategies that align with overall Microsoft goals and solve a problem for the customer.
• 5 years of program execution experience on complex international projects, including budgeting, driving schedules, setting goals and developing strategies for project completion.
• Proven success identifying appropriate partners to complete program work and developing and nurturing relationships with existing partners.
• Demonstrated experience driving for and measuring results, and an ability to work in a rapidly moving and often ambiguous environment.
• Marketing, communications and PR knowledge is a plus.
• Fluency in English. Proficiency in a language other than English is desirable.
• International travel is required.
