Switzerland Senior Manager Innovative Finance

Key results expected: • Drive corporate resource mobilisation in the UK and Europe for the GAVI Matching Fund, meeting established financial targets to 2015; • Significantly contribute to the achievement of GAVI’s broader innovative finance objectives; • Maintain positive and effective relationships with corporate partners and with Matching Fund donors; • Maintain positive and effective relationships with GAVI DC-based and Geneva-based colleagues.

Main duties/ Responsibilities: • Drive business development activities for the GAVI Matching Fund in the UK and Europe; • Proactively market GAVI Matching Fund in the UK and Europe; • Generate leads and develop opportunities for new partners; • Lead GAVI Matching Fund activities and relationships with donors and key champions in the UK and Europe; • Deepen and optimise relationships with UK and European corporate partners; • Report regularly and effectively to Washington DC-based Matching Fund managers and to donors as required; • Actively collaborate with rest of the Innovative Finance team in Washington DC and with the External Relations team and other relevant teams in Geneva, on development of strategy, reporting, media and communications, event planning and other activities; • Coordinate broader innovative finance outreach in the UK and Europe and represent GAVI and it mission.

Note: The essential functions listed in this section are not limited only to the tasks listed and may include other duties as assigned. Academic: • Advanced university degree from a recognised and reputable university, preferably in business or marketing.

Work experience: • Minimum 7 years of experience in multi-disciplinary teams in a financial institution or other business, a non-profit, or a management consultancy, working in corporate fundraising, marketing, sales or investor relations; • Proven achievements in sales, marketing or fundraising; • Experience in engaging with senior corporate leadership; • Public and global health experience an asset.

Skills/competencies: • Exceptional sales and marketing skills; • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills; • Self-driven, highly organised, capable of effectively organising her/himself and others; • Proven ability to work in and with complex project teams and processes; • A team player, collaborative style, creative and innovative with an engaging personality; • Knowledge of global public health preferred; • Good knowledge of institutional or organisational policies, systems and procedures; • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; • Tact and discretion; • Significant amount of travel between the UK and Europe; based in Geneva and would be expected to spend up to 15 days a month in the UK:

Languages: • Written and spoken fluency in English; • Spanish or French an asset.
