Health Safety and Environment Manager in Uganda

Eaton Towers Uganda Limited has commenced operations in Uganda and we are currently searching for qualified candidates to fill the following position.

Position: Health Safety and Environment Manager (HSE Manager)

Job Purpose:

The HSE manager reports to the Operations Director and is directly responsible for ensuring that all works are efficiently executed in accordance with safe and reasonable HSE standards accepted within the telecommunications industry.

Main Duties:

The main duties of the HSE Manager include but may not be limited to;
Develop and implement the HSE operational plan for Eaton towers HSE Department.
Develop HSE Guidelines and processes and ensure all relevant staff and contractors are well versed and comply with them.
Carry out HSE Audits and ensure that the works are carried out with in policy and procedure.
Together with the Human resource department, Spear head the sourcing and management of staff within the HSE department.
Supervise and manage the HSE team, clients and service providers and contractors in support of the company’s accreditation and certificate of good standing.
Ensure all financial aspects of the various projects are complied with in relation to the departmental budget

Requirement:

The successful candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in environmental management, or related field with at a minimum of 8 years in a supervisory or management position in health and safety management. Experience in the manufacturing, exploration, mining and telecommunications environments is an added advantage.
The candidate should have good knowledge of HSEQ, safety, health and environmental best practice and environmental protection with excellent computer skills in MS projects, word and excel.

Person Specifications:

The successful candidate should be a self-starter with strong problem solving, communication and people management skills. She/he should be able to Multi task efficiently, work under pressure.
