NIHR Clinical Research - Renal Fellowship 2012

Barts and The London - William Harvey Research Institute, Cardiovascular Research

We seek a Renal Specialist to join our translational programme for 2 years in acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease and accelerated cardiovascular disease including myocardial infarction to undertake a National Institute for Health Research funded clinical study in end-stage renal disease.

The successful candidate will have evidence of commitment to a career in renal medicine (holding a national training number in a renal speciality or equivalent) and will join the MDRes or PhD Programme in Cardiovascular Sciences at QMUL. During this time you will receive core training in running research studies. A good publication record would be an advantage. The candidate would be expected to apply for clinical research training fellowships if a PhD programme is chosen. Your contract will be held with Queen Mary University of London and honorary clinical contracts in the appropriate speciality at Barts Health NHS Trust will be offered.

The post is full time for 2 years and we would like the applicant to start as soon as possible. Starting salary will be in the range £30,992 to £57,655 per annum inclusive of London Allowance depending on experience. The applicant will be based at the Royal London Hospital part of the part of the internationally renowned William Harvey Research Institute at Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
