An exciting opportunity has arisen in World Vision New Zealand's Grants team for a Pacific Programmes Manager – Development Partnerships. WVNZ’s Grants team is a high-performing team who successfully acquire and support the delivery of large government grants across the Pacific region. Each team member is highly motivated and able to manage their own work professionally and diligently to achieve performance targets. This role is focused on growing partnerships with private and state sector actors in order to increase the level of resources for, and effectiveness of, World Vision’s programmes in the Pacific region. The primary funding source for WVNZ’s Pacific programmes is the NZ government, which is now promoting partnerships with private/state sectors for international development, focused on sustainable economic development in the Pacific. This role will work closely with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, our Pacific field offices and private sector partners in New Zealand to successfully leverage government grants with the resources and expertise of the private/state sectors to achieve development goals in the Pacific. The role includes the opportunity for regular travel throughout the Pacific and within New Zealand in order to manage partnerships and support programme delivery. The key accountabilities are Resource Acquisition, Partnership development, Programme Management.

The successful candidate will hold a tertiary/post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline - such as development studies, business administration etc. Experience writing grant proposals and managing donor contracts is essential. Experience in negotiating and brokering partnerships for achieving development outcomes is highly desirable, as is experience managing development projects in a developing country. Work experience in the public and/or private sectors is an advantage.

An understanding of the mission and core values of World Vision NZ and a commitment to these values and culture of the organisation is essential. This role is based in Auckland or Wellington, and requires the ability to travel overseas for up to 25% of the time, possibly at short notice.
