Project Assistant for Middle East and Arab World IFJ

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) is looking for a project assistant to provide administrative support to the IFJ's programme in the Arab World and the Middle East. The IFJ is offering an initial one year contract starting at the end of July 2012. The post is based at the IFJ Secretariat in Brussels.

Tasks:

The successful candidate will be expected to do the following:

  • Administrative and finance management support for ongoing projects;
  • General administrative support for the projects' division including translation from English to Arabic and vice versa;
  • Logistical support for organizing events (meetings, training sessions, conferences, seminars) in the region;
  • Providing support for co-ordinators to meet reporting targets.

Qualifications:

  • Arabic and English or French essential and good knowledge of the other language;
  • Demonstrable experience in projects implementation and procedures;
  • Experience in organising events;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications;
  • Permit to live and work in Belgium.
