Project Director I (Chief of Party, Partnerships for Youth in West Bank/ Gaza)

We seek qualified candidates for the position of Chief of Party (Partnerships for Youth Program) in the Palestinian Territories (Ramallah, West Bank).

Position Description:

The Chief of Party will be the project’s senior supervisor in the region and will oversee all aspects of program performance, both technical and managerial. The COP will serve as the project’s principal contact point for USAID, and will also be the main contact for local stakeholders, including civil society, government, private sector, and donor counterparts. The COP will supervise the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of local staff and consultants. S/he will also ensure compliance with donor and FHI 360 policies and procedure, including for activity development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, procurement, budgeting, and financial accounting. S/he will provide overall supervision of implementing partners and beneficiary communities, ensuring timely progress against schedules, achievement of deliverables, and quality of results.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills;
  • At least 10 years of experience designing, managing, and implementing complex development projects;
  • At least 5 years experience promoting youth development, local NGO capacity building, civil society strengthening, and/or private sector partnerships;
  • Experience managing USAID projects with sub-grants components highly preferred;
  • Familiarity with USAID programming, rules and regulations;
  • Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the West Bank/Gaza or other Arabic-speaking countries highly preferred
  • Ability to travel within the West Bank and possibly Gaza; possible regional travel.
