Responsible for servicing our four Yilgarn fly-in/fly-out operations in Western Australia, Barrick Yilgarn Shared Services is a team of dedicated, high achieving people working in key support functions such as commercial, HR, continuous improvement, environment, OHS, regional exploration, supply, and some areas of engineering.
SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE ADVISOR
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Shared Services team for a period of sixteen months to cover a period of parental leave. In this role you will provide HR generalist support to Yilgarn operations. Specific duties include:
  • Provide guidance, support and coaching to supervisors / managers in areas such as performance management, disciplinary procedures, policy interpretation, grievance resolution and EEO.
  • Champion and administer ongoing talent management process, including training and assistance for users.
  • Coordinate and support various training initiatives and career development programs including apprentices programs, graduate programs and leadership development.
  • Coordinate and support various compensation and benefits initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the mine sites.
  • Work closely with HR Manager to implement change management initiatives and other business improvement projects.

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications/skills:
  • Recognised degree in Human Resource Management or associated discipline,
  • Extensive experience in a HR Generalist role,
  • Experience in the resources industry is preferred,
  • Strong communication and presentation skills,
  • The ability to liaise with people at all levels,
  • Very high attention to detail,
  • Ability to interpret policy and compliance requirements.
This role is a sixteen month fixed term contract, FIFO mine based position which will involve some Perth based hours in the Barrick head office.
