Medical Gases Regulatory Manager
EIGA (European Industrial Gases Association AISBL), based in Brussels, is a safety, quality and technically oriented organisation representing the vast majority of European and many non-European companies producing and / or distributing industrial, medical and food grade gases.
EIGA wishes to appoint an industry expert to be the Association’s Medical Gases Regulatory Manager.
The position will be on a part time contractor basis for approximately 2 days per week.
The successful applicant will be expected to travel to EIGA’s office in Brussels on a regular basis to fulfil their duties and responsibilities.

Job Description
EIGA’s member companies co-operate closely in safety, quality and technical matters to achieve the highest level of safety and environmental care in the manufacture, distribution and handling of gases that include oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, krypton and neon.
With an increasing quantity of new and revised legislation that could have a direct or indirect impact on the medical gases industry the key objectives for the Medical Gases Regulatory Manager will be to support the Medical Gases industry from a regulatory perspective; to ensure EIGA is recognised as a stakeholder; and attend and participate in events organised by European institutions as well as other relevant stakeholders and individuals.

Key responsibilities
Interface with external organisations and groups - to raise awareness of the contributions our industry makes in the medical industry and ensure we are consulted for our views.
For general and for specific legislative issues, preparation and maintenance of briefing documents and papers, based on the positions established by EIGA’s Medical Gases Council and Working Groups.
Interface with internal EIGA Councils, Working Groups and Ad Hoc Groups - to fully develop the technical basis for any communications work.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the medical and industrial gas industry, a full understanding of the medical gas, medical device and pharmaceutical regulations in Europe and knowledge of EU authorities and procedures, consultation processes and comitology etc.
Educated to degree level, you must be a strong communicator with the ability to influence at every level and the ability to summarise complex technical medical and safety issues in non-technical terms.
Change management and a proven track record of working with and influencing regulators will be essential.
