Recruiter/Business Development Assistant

Nathan Associates has an immediate opening for a Recruiter/Business Development Assistant to support the International Development Economics and Infrastructure practices in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. This is an entry level position and a potential launching pad for our project management, business development, or recruiting career tracks. The Recruiter/Business Development Assistant will learn the importance and art of locating, attracting, and leveraging the best technical and managerial talent to implement economic growth projects worldwide. The Assistant will also serve on proposal teams as a recruiter, taking on additional proposal coordination duties over time. By doing so, s/he will be a highly valued member of Nathan’s International Group and develop an understanding of the full spectrum of the firm’s technical capabilities and business development strategy.
After initial training in recruiting systems and standard operating procedures, the Assistant will be assigned to and recruit for specific projects and proposals. As recruiting competencies increase, the Assistant will have the opportunity to serve as a proposal coordinator and gradually branch out and learn other facets of the international development business.  Some international travel will be likely as part of a scoping team for specific proposals.

Recruiting Responsibilities

Full cycle recruitment of candidates primarily for overseas positions inclusive of candidate identification, interviewing, reference checks  and salary verifications, preparation of personnel-related sections of proposals, and formatting and editing CVs. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with network of consultants and maintaining firm consultant database. Represent Nathan Associates at international development career fairs and networking events.

 Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, international development, or related field
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and deep interest in currents and trends in international development
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills and ability to multitask when facing tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and proven written communication skills
  • Excellent professional references
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization required

 Preferred qualifications

  • One to two years of relevant work/internship experience in one of the following environments: executive recruiting agency, staffing agency, U.S. government, USG contractor, or NGO recipient of federal grants
  • Developing country experience
  • Proficiency in a foreign language(s) including, but not limited to:  Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish
