Contractor - Training Coordinator

About the role
To coordinate the technical training requirements for all departments including on-shore and off-shore personnel, to ensure all BG personnel and Contractors are trained to an acceptable level, and to administer the Technical Training Management System.  
 
Key accountabilities
• Support the Competency & Technical Training Manager on competence and training issues ensuring consistency of approach
• Focal Point for BG UK & Norway Upstream Training
• Coordinate technical training requirements with Departmental Managers
• Identify and implement training support requirements
• Proactively plan and manage all training requirements with particular focus on mandatory refresher training
• Collate and present weekly and monthly progress reports
• Co-ordinate training database and record keeping
• Co-ordinate onshore/offshore personnel’s training related logistics
• Co-ordinate training venues, accommodation and travel as required.
• Identify job specific training profile requirements and develop training matrices.
• Co-ordinate regular reviews of training matrices to ensure industry and legislative standards are met.
• Monitor, evaluate and facilitate the continuous improvement of internal & external training courses
• Must be able to meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes
• Liaise with Awarding Bodies regarding registration, progression and certification of candidates, including co-ordination of External Verifier visits.
• Ensure contracts are in place with BG approved service providers
• Raise purchase orders/requisitions, and provide cost control
• Develop integration of the various Competency and Training databases
• Determine suitable training programmes to enable development of individuals and to close gaps identified through the Competency process.
• Support the Competency system and process
• Coordinate & facilitate meetings with relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Optimise technical training requirements for BG Europe E&P and minimise costs
• Develop induction training programme for new employees
• Direct the activities of the Technical Training Assistant
 
What we are looking for
• Prior knowledge and experience of scheduling, coordinating and recording of training activities.
• Prior experience as a Training Coordinator
• Budget preparation and control.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook
• Proficient in the use of databases with the ability to monitor and control data acquisition and processing
• Oil & Gas technical experience would be beneficial
 
• English speaker
• University Degree or similar
• A high level of education/experience preferably in a training/technical discipline would be beneficial
• Excellent communication, time management and influencing skills are essential.
• Must be a “self starter” and able to function autonomously
• Must be able to work effectively with individuals and different teams / work groups in other departments or companies.
• Customer oriented
• Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
• Strong organisational skills
• Problem solving ability arising from the need to constantly manipulate a wide range of diverse training activities
• The ability to interface with all departments, each with a singular view of their own priorities and differing individual deadlines to meet.
