Civilian police specialist , Washington, D.C

Chemonics seeks a civilian police specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded project to assist the agency to better assess, design, implement, and evaluate security sector governance projects. The specialist will provide technical assistance and analysis on security sector governance and accountability. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. 
 
Qualifications:  
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in international security, criminal justice, public administration, or other relevant field 
  • With Ph.D. degree, minimum five years of experience in police development, education, mentoring, or oversight, including at least two years of experience conducting police-related reform overseas; with master's degree, minimum eight years of experience in police development, education, mentoring, or oversight, including at least two years of experience conducting police-related reform overseas
  • Experience as a serving police officer strongly preferred
  • Experience working successfully with senior officials from partner governments
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required
