Conference organiser (consultant) Oxfam Great Britain
ACCRA has received funding from the Climate Development and Knowledge Network to support a regional conference involving policy makers (government, civil society, other key actors) from ACCRA countries and other African countries. The conference will be held in Nairobi or Uganda. We are looking for a consultant to organised it. ACCRA is looking for consultants with a strong record in administration and management of conferences:
· Demonstrable experience of managing conferences.
· Proven familiarity with systems such as per diems, etc.
· Demonstrable experience of organising events in sub Saharan Africa.
· Experience of real-time/ virtual conferencing to allow web users to access a conference.
· Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and attendees.
· Ability to write concise, readable and analytical reports and understanding of public communications.
· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English. Please note that Portuguese will be needed to organise the Mozambique attendees.
· Where possible, a sound understanding of climate change and/or knowledge of the 3 ACCRA countries would be desirable.
1. A cover letter introducing the organiser(s) and how the skills and competencies described above are met, with concrete examples.
a. A 2-page outline of the proposed process.
2. A 1-page budget covering the administration costs (conference costs are already agreed). We anticipate the total budget would be in the region of £6k including tax, though costed proposals will be considered.
3. A 1-page CV for each proposed organiser.
4. One example of a previous conference organised (one per person if more than one team member).
