EU Structural Funds Business Development Manager Deloitte

Deloitte can draw from over 60,000 staff across over 200 offices within our European firms. We provide professional, advisory and IT services to a broad range of industry sectors including the National Governments, Local and Regional Public Sector and the EU Institutions.

Deloitte is looking for a person to lead our Business Development activities in the EU Structural Funds market. The successful applicant will have a significant amount of travel, to work with Deloitte staff across the European Union. The role will involve developing internal and external relationships, researching and sharing knowledge of EU policies and initiatives and bringing Deloitte services to specific client opportunities to build a pipeline of work.

EU STRUCTURAL FUNDS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Role

The role will cover Deloitte's member firms in the European Union (plus potentially candidate states), and will be focused on effective promotion and development of Deloitte's Structural Funds services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination of existing relationships and developing new strategically important contacts;
• Sharing of knowledge of EU Structural Funds policies and initiatives with Deloitte practitioners across the EU;
• Targeting Deloitte expertise and competencies to specific client opportunities;
• Supporting Deloitte staff target and win new work opportunities.

Key tasks:

Contribute to building the pipeline of work for Deloitte firms in Europe:

• assist local teams in identification of target entities involved in EU related initiatives and formulation of business development approach for selected targets;
• be involved in relationship building efforts for selected target entities;
• identify and support relevant pursuits;
• provide relevant technical support in proposal preparation.

Facilitate effective sharing of existing Deloitte competencies between individual firms in Europe:

• identify key experts/managers and facilitate cross border cooperation on pursuits and projects;
• work with the Deloitte EU knowledge manager to enhance knowledge sharing within the region;
• work with the Deloitte Structural Funds function in Brussels to promote 'hot topics' to clients and contacts.

Actively help to formulate topics for future business opportunities:

• formulate and lead regional thought leadership initiatives that contribute to building Deloitte's position as the leader in key Structural Funds topics;
• liaise with the local teams to help promote these topics with local governments and other relevant entities.

Maintain close monitoring of EU policy and operational developments relating to Structural Funds:

• identify and interpret new policies and guidelines relating to Structural Funds and provide practical advice to Deloitte firms on commercial opportunities arising from them.

Your Profile

Description of the profile of the potential candidate:

• Practical and solid experience in providing/purchasing professional services in EU related and Structural Funds matters;
• Display adequate level of maturity and credibility required to interact with senior Government and Commission officials as well as Deloitte practitioners across the region;
• Good international language and communication skills, excellent writer, business development mindset;
• A track record of senior level business development and successful proposal management.
