Purpose of role:

This role plays a major part in driving the innovation agenda for Diageo. The agenda is challenging and will be achieved by the creation of highly differentiated brands, products and delivery systems, which satisfy our customers’ and consumers’ current and future needs. A key part of this role is to ensure that creative excellence, disciplined project leadership and management are balanced in delivering superior plans that lead to sustainable innovations.

Top 5 accountabilities:

  • The role will be responsible for commercialising key innovation projects and delivering a number of test market and roll-out launch programmes.
  • Develop clear test market and roll-out plans and lead the cross functional team to flawlessly deliver the plans.
  • Manage key stakeholders to ensure engagement leading to project delivery.
  • Ensure learning from projects is communicated to other teams working on similar opportunities and look for best practice to apply to own projects.
  • Support the Innovation Marketing Manager in generating powerful innovation concepts based on deep consumer insight.

Qualifications and experience required:

Educated to Graduate level preferably within Marketing or a business related subject.

Innovation or marketing experience within an FMCG environment.

  • Innovation judgement – understands the true consumer impact of our innovation output by using clearly defined logical criteria balanced with instinct/intuition to judge and express in a compelling way all elements of an innovation idea.
  • Commerciality – uses sound financial understanding to build innovation ideas whilst balancing commercial, customer and consumer motivations to deliver outstanding results.
  • Motivating and inspiring agencies and cross functional teams – understands what drives and motivates internal and 3rd party teams and constantly strives to build great relationships by breaking down barriers to performance.
