Job Purpose:

*
To assist the Division/Department in managing a portfolio of projects/programs with particular focus on priority areas of poverty alleviation, food security, agriculture and livelihood enhancement.
*
To support the formulation, identification, appraisal, supervision and administration of projects of the Agriculture and Food Security Division.
*
To assist and contribute in designing, implementing and developing monitoring frameworks and procedures at the Division level, department and the Operations Complex.

Responsibilities/Activities:

*
Participate in the development and implementation of annual budget and work plans/programs across the division/department.
*
Support in the formulation and in the appraisal of agriculture and rural development projects/programs for lending and support in supervision of implementation including reviewing and clearing related procurement and disbursement requests.
*
Support in presenting project/program proposals from the preparation, appraisal, approval and implementation phase of the project cycle.
*
participate in identifying a network of consultants in the relevant sector.
*
Follow-up his/her project portfolio (monitoring, procurement, award of contracts, disbursements etc.).
*
Prepare project completion reports, with the help of the Borrower at the completion of each project.
*
Monitor the project implementation in collaboration with the Executing Agency.
*
Play an important role in disseminating and sharing knowledge inside the Division, Department and Operations Complex.
*
Participate in introducing best practices in handling Agriculture and Poverty projects and programs.
*
Present and defend project/program proposals within the Division.
*
Provide technical inputs and expertise to peer colleagues in poverty alleviation and participatory sustainable development related issues.
*
Act as a peer reviewer for other similar operations within the team, as well as outside the Division.
*
Participate in identifying a network of consultants in the relevant sector.
*
Provide inputs in the formulation of food security, poverty and rural development paper and represent IDB in relevant forums.
*
Identify new and emerging technical areas/issues that affect the implementation of ARD projects and assist in the Department efforts to develop innovative approaches to them.
*
Collect analyze and process information on agriculture, food security & poverty; and Contribute to the preparation of presentations, speeches, papers, etc.
*
Prepare and present regular progress reports to keep the seniors abreast of the latest developments & trends in his/her area of interest.

Qualification & Experience:

*
A University degree (Master's preferred) in agriculture, poverty reduction or related disciplines.
*
At least 4-6 years international experience, preferably in a development institution with direct exposure to livelihood/poverty/agriculture issues either through work or post-graduation studies.
*
In-depth knowledge and sound understanding of poverty alleviation and participatory sustainable development approaches as well as integrated agriculture development best-practices and trends.

Skills & Competencies:

*
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
*
Very Good Computer literacy and use of software (s) specific to economic and sector analysis.
*
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
*
Arabic and French can be an additional value.
*
Well versed in the project management/project cycle.
