Resource Development Manager (Africa, Europe and the Middle East)

Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 Euros per year, dependent upon experience

The IB fundraising department was established in 2006 to support the work of the organisation by underpinning access and innovation initiatives. The IB now has Development Managers in all three global centres. The Resource Development Manager for AEM will support the Head of Fundraising, based in Bethesda, U.S.A. in achieving the department’s goals in relation to identified global organizational priorities by developing and managing relationships with prospects and donors. She will also work with the respective Regional Director (under matrix management) and their team, contributing skills and expertise in advising how to make projects fundable and seeking funding opportunities in line with identified regional needs. Additionally, the job holder will work closely with Communications (and External Relations) to ensure wider support and recognition for donor funded projects. Furthermore, the Resource Development Manager will work together with Operational and Project Managers from other departments, as applicable, in ensuring donor-funded projects and deliverables are in compliance with donors’ requirements and expectations.

Requirements:

  • University degree with preference for a relevant post graduate qualification;
  • At least 5-10 years of related professional, fundraising experience;
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills including planning for fundraising strategy, budgeting, reporting;
  • High degree of emotional intelligence and cultural competence necessary for working in multiple country contexts;
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with an ability to change writing styles to fit the audience;
  • Good presentation skills to serve as an ambassador for the IB;
  • Ability to work both independently and with teams of colleagues of varying status;
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospects, and interact in person and via telephone with institutional representatives;
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies as well as familiarity with research techniques;
  • Fluency in more than one of the languages of the IB and the region.

Location

The post will be based in The Hague, the Netherlands.

An international hire package will be available to assist a successful candidate to relocate to the Netherlands. The position will involve some international travel.
