QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Crop Breeding and/or Genetics.


EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Considerable experience in teaching and research on the genetics and breeding of tropical crops in a university environment with evidence of an excellent record of publications in recognized, refereed scientific journals is required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in food crop species and biotechnology. Demonstration of the capacity to develop a sound research agenda relevant to desirable food crop characteristics, to attract funding for research and development, and for high quality teaching, including design and developing of, new courses and programmes and the use of ICT will be important assets.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
A student-centred, team player with high level of initiative, strong commitment and excellent ommunication, coordination and leadership skills.
