PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR Marketing

Duties: The successful candidate will provide academic leadership through enhancement of teaching, research and community service activities of the department and will be expected to: (i) teach marketing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (ii) act as a mentor to junior academic staff; (iii) initiate, develop and establish research programs in marketing with staff from the cognate group (marketing); (iv) raise / solicit research funds from funding agencies within and outside the country; (v) Assist and guide M. Phil and Ph D students in their research, and, (vi) carry out any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Professor: Candidates should have: (i) a Masters Degree in marketing or related areas; (ii) at least 8 years university teaching experience or equivalent; (iii) an excellent cumulative and sustained record of research and publications in marketing in refereed journals and experience in supervising graduate and undergraduate students’ research projects and internships; (iv) at least 24 publications, 12 of which are peer reviewed journal papers; lead and/or single authored in at least 10 journal articles or book chapters; (v) evidence of academic leadership; (vi) evidence of service to the university, the profession and the community; (vii) the ability, reflected in the profile, to attract funding from international sources will be an added advantage. Associate Professor: Candidates should have: (i) a Masters Degree in marketing or related areas; (ii) at least 5 years university teaching experience or equivalent; (iii) an excellent cumulative and sustained record of research and publications in marketing in refereed journals and experience in supervising students’ research projects and internships; (iv) at least 12 publications, 8 of which are peer reviewed journal papers; lead and/or single authored in at least 6 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (v) evidence of academic leadership and evidence of service to the university, the profession and the community; (vi) the ability, reflected in the profile, to attract funding from international sources will be an added advantage.
