The BIS has a number of openings for economists and senior economists in its Monetary and Economic Department. This is your opportunity to work at the hub of central bank cooperation, analysing global financial and economic developments, preparing policy analysis for senior central bank officials and undertaking research on issues relating to monetary policy and financial stability.

You have a PhD or equivalent work experience, with particular expertise in monetary and macroeconomic issues, financial markets or financial stability. You have excellent communication skills and at least four years’ experience at a central bank, international organisation or commercial financial institution. Most positions are in Basel, Switzerland, but there are also opportunities to work in our representative offices in Hong Kong SAR and Mexico.
