The Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) Fleet Strategy & Delivery (FS&D) division is responsible for delivering capability, maximising the sustainable business value and managing the opportunities and risks related to the Mobile Fleet & Equipment of Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) across its operations of mines, ports, rail and infrastructure in the Pilbara, WA.
The primary purpose of the Fleet Strategy & Delivery division is the safe and effective project management of capital expenditure (sustaining and growth) for the selection and delivery of Mobile Fleet & Equipment to meet the requirements of Rio Tinto Iron Ore's operations and expansion plans in the Pilbara.
We are seeking an experienced Contracts /Commercial Advisors to join the Fleet Strategy and Delivery division. This is a Perth based role which will be reporting to the Superintendents Project Controls. ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary purpose of this role is to provide contracts and commercial support to the Fleet Delivery team to ensure projects are managed to accepted Rio Tinto and industry commercial standards.
In this role, your main focus will be on the following:
  • Preparation of procurement documentation
  • Project cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
  • Coordinate the procurement process and ensure alignment with project delivery targets
  • Management of centralised contracts and ensuring vendors comply with contractual requirements
  • Supplier negotiation and issue of contract documents
  • Work collaboratively with key Rio Tinto groups and OEMs to continually improve services
  • Identify and manage opportunities for improving performance (efficiency, effectiveness and costs) within FS&D
  • Review and assess supplier invoices and progress claims for payment
  • Investigate, review and submit contract variations
  • Contribute to team performance to ensure FS&D meets HSE, operational and cost targets.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this position you will have
  • Bachelor of Business (BCom) or other relevant Tertiary education
  • Demonstrated experience as Contract Administrator/ Project Engineer or other similar Procurement/ Commercial role, preferably within the mining/resource sector
  • Proficient user of Microsoft office with advanced Word/ Excel capabilities
