Our Technical Services division is currently seeking an experienced Specialist Civil Engineer. Reporting to the Principal Hydrogeology, you will be required to review, identify and investigate hydrological issues, risks and priorities that may impact on our current Pilbara mining operations.
Accountabilities
  • Scope, design, plan, execute, analyse and effectively communicate on hydrological programs to develop strategic and tactic surface water management plans.
  • Assist with departmental planning process - especially budgets, plans and LEAN.
  • Manage consultants for hydrological programs including; CMS reviews and technical audits while reviewing consultants output and cost efficiency - always aiming at developing strong in-house hydrology team capability.
  • Supervise the effective technical advice given to other mining professionals on hydrological issues.
  • Coordinate and develop a set of hydrological standards and guidelines.
  • Identify and proactively build and foster strong relationship with site hydrogeologists, environmental officers and mining personnel. Coach members on engineering standards and best practice.
  • Comply with HSEQ standards & proactive engage in the department's Health & Safety Plan
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in civil engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in Hydrology
  • Experience in assessment of surface water flow and flood estimation
  • Exposure to surface water management & design of flood mitigation structures
  • Development of surface water management plans
  • Experience with the presentation of hydrological assessments.
  • Hydraulic design experience desirable
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills & commitment to team development
  • Exposure to safety systems within a large mining company
