Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc (TEMA) is the alignment of Toyota's North American R&D and manufacturing operations, joining the operations, planning and technical functions. Established in April 2006, TEMA strengthens Toyota's North American customer focus, through improved supplier cooperation, overall speed, flexibility and attention to quality. TEMA headquarters in Erlanger, KY, house the Toyota Operations Center and the Toyota Planning Center. The main offices for the Toyota Technical Center are in Ann Arbor, MI.
This position is located in Erlanger, KY.
Responsibilities
Manage projects with Business Partners and IS members, to develop and kaizen systems to support Team Member & Suppliers improvement initiatives.
Operational /functional responsibilities
  • Manage Unified demand requests as needed.
  • Manage incident problem tickets as needed.
Lead / Manage team responsibilities
  • Effective utilization of team members/variable work force in order to complete assigned tasks.
  • Support section wall chart review to provide updates on all projects leading and to assist other team members in their updates as needed.
Manage Projects
  • Utilize TBP process to investigate and develop counter measures.
  • Utilize options & evaluation to propose recommendations.
  • Utilize PDCA process to manage and visualize multiple projects.
  • Lead-go-and-see activities to understand current condition, issues, business partners needs, unique process and reasons, and kaizen ideas, direct from the business partners.
  • Lead discussions and negotiation to gain consensus, to reach win-win solution.
  • Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including all NAMC's & TEMA divisions working group and management.
  • Develop strategy and master schedule with consensus from business partners and management.
  • Develop process & systems link charts, user requirements, system function detail designs, test cases, test scripts, training materials, pilot strategy, implementation strategy, and reflection strategy with consensus from business partner and management.
  • Manage variable workforce to ensure project targets are achieved.
  • Raise issues/concerns to business partners and management immediately.
  • Monitor time reporting in Planview to ensure that hours are recorded correctly for future planning of resources.
  • Estimate project budgets, propose kaizen to effectively reduce cost, gain consensus from business partners and management, manage budget, and provide variance explanation to business partners and management.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent. BA in IT Management, Management IS.
  • 5 years IT application management experience required (with experience of working with business partners/vendors to develop requirements & justifications, develop/test/train/implement applications, and on going support).
  • 5 years project management experience with teams greater than 5 team members (internal or external) and vendor management.
Preferred
  • TBP Panel Certified (passed panel) or similar problem solving certification.
  • 5 years Toyota project management experience.
